ROUTINE

************************  UPDATE  *************************

2/2/17: My current protocol is on hold as I prepare for my 4th brain surgery, scheduled for March 3rd (my husband's birthday), at UCLA.

        ************************************************************************

As of the summer of 2016 I find myself in the early stages of yet another recurrence. I am devising a new protocol which I hope to stabilize the brain tumor growth, with the goal of holding off on a fourth brain surgery. My next MRI will be in Oct 2016. We will know then if I have been successful in keeping the tumor at bay. I'm okay with living with a brain tumor, but the idea of another brain surgery is exhausting. Once I have the full plan decided, I will update this page.  - Jess

Working List:
Cannabinoids (Rick Simpson style oil)
Metformin
Alfacalcidol
Chlorotoxin
Low Dose Naltraxone
Garlic
(DC Immunotherapy -On Hold)

*********************************************************************************

This is my old list of supplements/off labels:

Metformin (500 mg 2xd): lowers & stabilizes blood glucose, targets cancer stem cells
DCA (0.25 g 2xd: 2w on, 1w off): induces differentiation through modulation of PKM2/Oct4 interaction
Zinc (50 mg 1xd): repairs mutant p53, lowers copper (an angiogenesis promoter)
Cannabinoids (no exact dosing, 1.5 hours before bed): kills glioma cells
Curcumin (2,500 mg 1xd): kills glioma cells, lowers inflammation (a tumor promoter)
Garlic (3 finely chopped cloves 3xw): kills glioma cells, lowers inflammation
D3 (2,000-10,000 IU, varies on mood): boosts immune response
* protocol completed * Chlorotoxin (4-5x 1xd): kills glioma cells, lowers inflammation
Newcastle Disease Virus (a shot every 3 mo): kills glioma cells, boosts immune system

I used to be on a much more exhaustive list (seen below), but it was too much to maintain. Above is my bare-bones treatments - the ones I do daily. I consider myself to be in a maintenance phase. Since I've been considered "stable" for a few years (since Oct 2012), I'm on a more basic, manageable, routine which began after I passed 2.5 years of stable scans. From time to time, I often add extra supplements (melatonin, resveratrol, Ip6, etc.), or change up my diet (intermittent fasting, RKD, non-processed vegan, etc.), or toss in extra off labels (like Accutane, or Naltexone). I never stick to the same protocol for long. It's not because I'm trying to confuse the tumor, although that may be a benefit, instead it's because I can not survive in a monotonous atmosphere. I have to be able to change it up.

This is my life, I'm not a pill taking robot, I have to live.

Here is a paper from my German clinic with information about the Newcastle Disease Virus:

  1. Jess, have you looked at IP-6 and Melatonin?

What about l-carntine to help you transport all those fats into the mitochondria?

  4. My wife and I have ordered some DCA which we are going to try once my chemo/radiation treatments are finished.
I am VERY curious about DCA and wonder if it can touch my GBM?
I would like to hear from anyone who has had any interaction with DCA.

  5. How do you acquire the off label prescription drugs?

    1. You need to find a doctor that will be receptive to research based additions. I bring the scientific studies and present them to doctors. It took a long time to find doctors that really wanted to treat, to really help me be heathy. It was basically trial and error for a long time. I recommend looking for doctors that work at centers that promote whole body healing. A place that provides multiple treatment modalities like acupuncture, nutritionists, etc. Clinics that see the body as a whole, with many facets, tend to look at the bigger picture which is exactly the spirit of the off-labels.

    2. Hi Dmitri. The tough part with cannabinoid research is that there doesn't seem to be an exact percentage that works best. Each body has a different amount of receptors, and different cannabinoid systems. Some say high THC is best, some research prefer a 1:1 ration THC:CBD. Unfortunately, it's a very much a trial and error approach. I believe my current oil is 13%:6%. I take it before bed under my tongue. There are a ton of different chat rooms, and Facebook support groups for people dosing cannabinoids for cancer, and specific groups that are for glioma and cannabinoids. I recommend talking to others and see what they're doing. Some people are pretty dogmatic that their way is the only way, but there is no one way to dose THC/CBD, in my opinion, or everyone who took a specific dose would always be cured, and that is not the case. I will also email you in case you have further questions.

    1. Thank you Vish! Dang it about your mom's diagnosis ("dang it" definitely doesn't cut it, but I'm trying not to curse online). I'm happy to share my source. Kindly share your email address in a comment and I'll shoot you out an email. I can delete the comment with your email address if you would like. :)
