Evolution

Yesterday my hairdresser Jesse, who's been in my life since I was a wee fourteen years old, provided a safe haven in his Seattle townhouse for me to shed my follicles in privacy.

I'm forever grateful for the compassion of those around me. I can't even begin to express my gratitude.

  2. Jessica, Just wanted you to know that there are many praying for you from your old home of San Juan Island. Your bold comments and insights are inspiring.
May the Lord Jesus, who loves you, and holds you, and walks beside you, be ever so dear, as He guides the surgeon's hands and brings healing and wholeness to you.

The shots are fab and those lovely scarfs well, of course, Nora Ephron is nodding yes with applauding approval. You're so ready to tackle this and get on with the rest of your wonderful life. You go girl. xoxoxoxo S & G

  12. Jess, I haven't seen you in ages, but I was devastated when I heard what you're going through! I am amazed reading your blog - you are so strong and funny and wise, I know you will pull through this! My husband, Brandon, had cancer a few years ago. When he was first diagnosed the doctors didn't believe it could possibly be cancer because, in their words, "it would be the worst case they had ever heard of, let alone seen." Needless to say we were terrified. He has now been in remission for almost 5 years and is doing great. You are in my prayers! Lots of love, Rachel Brown (LaPrade)

  17. You are one amazing woman Jessica!! Beautiful in every way! I am praying for you, I promise! Just read this Dr. Seuss book in class today to the kids and found it to a good little quote,
"I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Some come from ahead and some come from behind. But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see. Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!" Stay strong girl!! Love ya!

  20. Hi Jessica!!! I wish I knew you! I live in Friday Harbor with my hubby and three young kids and I just, 10 days ago, had brain surgery at the UWMC with Dr. Bob Rostomily, a colleague of Dr. Silbergeld. They are amazing! You are in such good hands! Look for Dr. Ali and Dr. Muresh, they rock too! I had a benign meningioma removed from my left, front temporal lobe. No direct grey matter, but still scary. I feel pretty good today, staples out. I look forward to reading about your recovery. If you want to call or be in touch at all, 378-6301 or tzehner@rockisland.com
