Bacteria on the Brain Article

Holy cow this is amazing! One of my buddies sent me this article, probably knowing that not only do I love hearing about brain cancer/tumor treatments, but also I am enthralled with bacteria and viruses and how they can relate to cancer growth and treatment. If I ever have to have a fourth brain surgery, I want my brain flap soaked in Enterobacter aerogenes too - and what a surgeon! Dang. A true doctor, and true healer. I love problem solvers.

  1. Very fascinating and personally I applaud those doctors willing to take risks for patients who are at the end and understand the risks.

  3. Wow this is really interesting. I had my 4th craneotomy for a grade 2 glioma at UCLA in March. A week prior to surgery I has developed an abscess right over where the spot where they needed to make the question mark shaped incision. The abscess hadn't completely healed by the surgery date but surgery was performed anyways and I wondered whether my revved up immune might be able to identify the, maybe it did.

  4. Oh how cool! (Not that you've had to do 4 brain surgeries of course.) I am so intrigued by the whole infection thing, the way it revs the immune system. I wonder if we have the same neurosurgeon too! I hope you're doing well! I'm so glad you commented. :) Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you. xoxo
