All but one of these patients were treated with TMZ alone (without radiation). It seems the risk of hypermutation is around 50% for both grade 2, IDH1 mutant astrocytoma and oligodendroglioma treated with TMZ alone. The researchers are still trying to figure out why some but not all tumors respond this way to this treatment.
